It is well worth spending a few hours exploring the village of Aldbury itself. Apart from the obvious duck pond and stocks, there is a mediaeval Church which dates back to the thirteenth century. In Summer months you may chance upon the Aldbury Morris Men.
Well known as one of the most picturesque villages in Hertfordshire, it is a delight to wander the village streets. You never know what you may find, you may come across the jockeys exercising the horses from the local Walter Swinburn Stables, or perhaps a film crew making use of this spectacular location.
Recently, Renée Zellweger was in the village filming a hunting scene for the second film in the Bridget Jones series, (although sadly the scene ended up on the cutting room floor - although you can see it on the DVD!)
